The Brief

This home was designed for Mr. Hemchand Nagda, a senior citizen based in Mumbai. He shared his requirements with the team and entrusted the project to Swami Interior to see through from planning to execution. That trust shaped the approach: the residential interior design needed to reflect his preferences precisely, with clear communication throughout so the finished home matched what he had in mind, without requiring him to be involved in every execution detail.

Living Room & Passage

The living areas were planned to feel open and light filled, with a material and colour palette kept consistent through the passageway into the private areas of the home helping the apartment feel larger and more connected than a typical 3BHK layout.

Modular Kitchen

The kitchen was custom designed as a bespoke modular unit, built around the specific storage and workflow needs of the family rather than a standard layout. Finishes were coordinated with the rest of the home’s material palette of premium veneers and PU.

Bedrooms

Each of the three bedrooms the master bedroom, the son’s bedroom, and the guest room was designed with its own distinct character while sharing the home’s overall material language. Custom wardrobes were built into each room to maximise storage without disrupting the room’s proportions.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms were designed as a considered part of the overall interior scheme rather than an afterthought, with detailing intended to feel consistent with the finish quality used through the rest of the home.

Materials & Finishes

The material palette across the home centred on:

• Premium veneer and PU finishes on cabinetry and joinery
• Italian marble flooring
• Custom wardrobes throughout the bedrooms
• Premium loose furniture and soft furnishings for the final layer of styling

Ceiling & Lighting

A decorative false ceiling was designed with ambient lighting layered in, giving the living spaces a softer, more dimensional feel than flat overhead lighting typically allows.

Smart Home Automation

Smart home automation was integrated into the apartment, allowing key functions of the home to be controlled digitally — part of the brief to make the finished home not just beautiful but genuinely easy to live in.
